One big lie and a huge success! :)

No, no, no...last Friday wasn't my last day at work before holiday!!

I only needed to make a certain guy believe I wouldn't be in the country and because of that there wouldn't be a bachelor party last weekend!!

He he he, I love it when a plan comes together!!! Robbert, you said I was good, but you were better...we both know now that I am the best! You never saw this one coming, great to see the surprise and disbelief on your face! LoL

Lucky guy to get two bachelor parties, one on Friday (evening/night) and one on Saturday (afternoon/evening/night). The Friday party was extra since one group of friends all couldn't make it on Saturday. Both days were a great success, everyone had heaps of fun, pictures this time *not* to follow, he he he...

Friday we went to Scheveningen for some food, drinks and entertainment :)

Saturday was filled with activities, food and some more activities!

The two nights completely wrecked he groom :) Despite everything has had the time of his life...as said, I love it when a plan comes together!! :)

The only bummer on all this is the fact I still have to work for a week...:( :(

Last day!!

Today's the last day at work before I'm gonna enjoy a well deserved holiday...finally!!

We'll go to Italy baby YEAHHHH! Visitting an Italian colleague for some days near Termoli (east coast) and after that enjoy the beauty of the province of Marche, planned to do exactly NOTHING but to sit in the sand!! :)

It'll be quite a long drive (1800 km!), so we'll spread it over two days. Gonna leave Sunday, right after the family weekend we're having with Kristel's family from tomorrow afternoon, also heaps of fun! Sjeez, isn't life's great??

Temperatures will drop?

Weather forecast predicts that the extreme temperatures will come to an end from tomorrow....he he he, that's about time! Pity actually, I adore this weather, even though I don't enjoy it fully, being stuck at work every day. Yesterday I forgot to bring my fan from home and reach an all time high of 30.5 degrees at my desk...oofffff!!

The Netherlands are not really prepared for this weather to stay for this long time:

A news report showed that fans are sold out almost everywhere and new deliveries will arrive end September...that's too late if you ask me! :)

Trucks are pooring water on bridges to make sure they can still be opened as well as on tram-lines to prevent them to bend and break...wtf?!?

NP Hoge Veluwe

We've been to the National Parc 'De Hoge Veluwe' with Claire and Scott yesterday. A beautiful day (again)...fun to ride those white bikes through wonderful nature! They really felt home at some point (Oz that is)...wow, never realized that The Netherlands could be so much like Australia...we missed out on kangeroos and koalas though! :)

Pictures to be posted lateron when I emptied my camera.

Heatwave, again!!

The Netherlands is 'suffering' from a heatwave, again! Quite unusual weather for NL these days...the heatwave became 'official' last Wednesday (we can call it like that when we have 5 days above 25 degrees of which three days above 30 degrees). The temperature hasn't dropped since, wow!

No complaints here, except from the fact that I have to work :( :( and the temperature *inside* the office is around 30 degrees!!!! Aaarrrggghhhh, it should be forbidden to work in those temperatures, eh?

I brought a fan from home to give me some airflow, faking a cooler temperature than it really is...:)

Anyway, weekend is coming up!

We have to prepare a room tomorrow in which our Canadian friends Claire and Scott will stay (actually, they're Austalian and living in the UK at the moment), but for sure we'll hit the beach the coming days!! Actually, will go there tonight...he he he!

Back from Slovakia

What a trip!!! Really enjoyed every moment of it...no surprise, eh?

We (me and Robbert) left last Thursday early morning and got stuck in terrible traffic in Germany...the final destination 'Pohoda' was reached late evening, instead of the early evening that we aimed for. The festival terrain was hard to find again, so the tent had to be set up in total darkness, same shit as last year. :) But, it didn't matter anyway since the festival starts only early Friday afternoon...enough time to relax! Which in the end is what pohoda is all about, expecially since the slovak word 'pohoda' means 'chill out'...everyone is supposed to have a nice time and relax.

So, Friday/Saturday festival...enjoyed nice weather, relaxing atmosphere, met some great people, had just a few beers :) and saw interesting bands...Stereo MC's, The Pixies, Apache Indian and Reggae Revolution, Gentleman, Babylon Circus, Zero 7...just to name a few :)

On Sunday we went to a lake near Senec to bath :) and spend the night in Bratislava for some *serious* sleeping since Monday was traveling day again! :)

Luckily the drive back went much smoother than the way to SK...always good to come back home, even though still a part of me feels 'pohoda' in Slovakia :)

Photos to come later!

Yessss....the unleash has reached the next step, over the weekend I was able to log in! There are still some bits and pieces to set straight, I know the dudes and dudettes at Podshow are working their asses off...all-in-all I'd say it's a pretty impressive start!

Just checked the site again and got thru to the main page!!!

I logged in and got the message: 'Congratulations! You're almost in.'...got all excited now! Followed the process of getting an activation key, received the verification mail, clicked on the link to activate my account and...got a message 'Sorry, that code was invalid.'...guess we still have to wait just a little bit...anyone else more luck??

Podshow+, unleash update

Things are moving!

Today the last clip was put on the site, you see Ron Bloom searching for the button to unleash the Podshow+ Public Beta, after Adam apparently told him to go ahead and hit it.

A nice touch is that the flash animation filename is '420.swf'...he he he, 420 for the guys at Podshow!! :)

The direct link to the clip:

Podshow+, unleash is nearing...

Quite funny, through the entire day Podshow has put different clips on their site to ease the waiting for the Podshow+ unleash. In these clips you see Adam sitting behind his craplet I guess (the Toshiba Protege :)) waiting for the unleash...actually getting tired of waiting. :)

As you can see the view is taken seen 'through' the monitor which gives a nice touch to the upcoming event!

Adam's mom passed away

Last Sunday July 2nd, Adam Curry's mother, Valarie Gail Clark, passed away at the age of 67.

Listen to yesterdays DSC...

I remember the Daily Source Code of October 20, 2004 when Adam talked about her illness just a day after discovering it...personal, emotional and very touching! Since then, her fight to survive and live a decent life has been an integral part of the Daily Source Code.

We, podcast listeners in general and Daily Source Code listeners in particular, were included in this and have supported Adam and his family in various ways over the last two years.

I know every bit helps, hang in there dude, we're here for you!

Pictures from Texel, at last!!

Finally found some time to post the photos from the Texel weekend on my Flickr-page! (hope you like them Ron :))

I was also confronted with a limitation of the free/basic Flickr-account...maximum 3 photo sets. :( :(

The Texel pictures can still be found via the 'Texel 2006' tag though!
