Wedding weekend was GREAT!

Just a quicky before I'm hitting the hay...the wedding weekend was GREAT! Axel and Beike both said 'YES' and are married, an amazing group of people attended a superb weekend. I'm running out of words, it was so darn special having the *honor* to be commissar of the weekend (is that the same as 'master of ceremony'??). Even was able to REALLY enjoy everything...mission accomplished!! :)

Poem of the Day...?!?

Some sentences circled through my brain today, seems like a little poem.

I wanted to share them...am still wondering where they came from though.

Without darkness no light,

Without black no white,

Paint the picture of your life,

Use all colours you can find,

And make it bright.

Firefox 2.0 release today

Read/Write Web: Interview With Chris Beard, Mozilla VP Products on the Firefox 2.0 launch planned today.

Two quotes:

"We see that RSS is still very early in its adoption and use overall."....huh?!?

and

"it really shouldn't matter whether you're accessing your content from your computer, your phone or your tv - we're going to see consistency in that experience."...YESSSSS!!!

Am a happy FF user for years now. Check it out for yourself & download it!

Gillmor Gang, Friday the 13th Gang

Just finished listening to another episode of The Gillmor Gang (my favorite tech&geek podcast). This one was recorded on Friday the 13th and is not surprisingly called 'Friday the 13th Gang' :)...and...it was HILARIOUS!! It was actually more a fun and social talk than deep techy&geeky, but I still enjoyed it to bits!

Listen to all 5 parts: part I, II, III, IV and V.
Especially the end of the last episode got me rollin' on the floor; Jason Calacanis did his Adam Curry imitation, having him crying from laughing too :)

History of podcasting

Clique Communications' Richard Giles posted the The Origins Of Podcasting. A complete overview of the history of podcasting...very complete I must admit...it's the first overview I've come across that decribes the amazing encounter I had with Adam Curry (a moment later referred to as a 'godcasting' by Dave Winer)...kudos Richard! :)

PS. Adam didn't think I was an offending motorist, for him it turned out to be a 'click'-moment...showing him that he was really on to something big! :)

Scruncher...or...Folder??

A big topic in Adam's Daily Source Code for months now...it's about time to point y'all to the official website that is keeping track of Scrunchers and Folders worldwide, scruncherorfolder.com! :)

So...how do YOU roll??

New header graphic

I wasn't too happy with the last header graphic, the picture was amazing, especially the light and story behind it, but I am not that pleased with the overall colors and atmosphere, so...check it out, an amazing sunset taken some weeks ago in Schiermonnikoog!

Steve Jobs: "Almost everything--all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure--these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart."

Last nights game, Quintus - Pijlslag: 2-2

We played against our fellow trainingdudes of Pijlslag. We were taken by surprise with their powerplay from the start and lost the first two sets with 10-25, 12-25...OUCH! Luckily we were able to repack ourselves in the third set, survived a matchpoint and won it 28-26. The last set was tough, but hard work paid off, 25-23...a draw! This might be the best result for both teams since we will train together coming Monday. :)

In the end we were the moral winners, coming back from so far away...

Last Saturday, October 7

I had quite a hectic weekend; high school reunion, big family party, a bachelor party and, oh yeah, a volleyball match which we lost 3-0.

So, waaaayyy too busy to post on it, but it has been 2 years ago last Saturday, October 7, that the podcasting train truly left the station...godspeed with a godcast...destination yet unknown...heading for a great and eventful ride!

For all suckers of historic moments; check it out!

Trade Secrets podcasts

It *is* time to go to bed, but...never too late to help out Dave Winer:

He's looking for some of the Trade Secrets podcasts he did 2 years ago with Adam Curry and asked if anyone still had copies. Hehe, I do...obviously! I posted a comment and he responded!

Dave, you can find them here! (PS. I adjusted the link pointing now to their 'own' homebase on Dave's server :))

(Sorry for the crappy .Mac interface and please give the files some time to be uploaded to the server...it *will* take a while, but was the best I could do for now, at this time of night :))

Isn't it great to see how one big inter(net)connected community works?
