Adding search in Google Reader!
It turns out that I am not the only one being amazed that search is not available in Google Reader (within your subscribed feeds)...there is a kind of workaround until Google implements search capability (found in the comments on Scobleizer, thx Robert Scoble!)

James Brown is dead
Early morning Christmas Day 2006; the Godfather of Soul died.
The early ninetees techno band L.A. Style knew this day would come, one day...from 1991 this is: James Brown is dead (via YouTube)!

Today; Global Orgasm Day
The Global Orgasm Event:
WHO?
All Men and Women, you and everyone you know.
WHERE?
Everywhere in the world, but especially in countries with weapons of mass destruction.
WHEN?
Winter Solstice Day - Friday, December 22nd,
at the time of your choosing, in the place of your choosing and with as much privacy as you choose.
WHY?
To effect positive change in the energy field of the Earth through input of the largest possible surge of human energy a Synchronized Global Orgasm. There are two more US fleets heading for the Persian Gulf with anti-submarine equipment that can only be for use against Iran, so the time to change Earth’s energy is NOW!
The synchronized Global Orgasm is set for 15:00h GMT.
Pfeww...I found out JUST in time!! :) :)

Winter starts today
Today's the first winterday, FINALLY! :)
The Netherlands (actually whole of Europe) has experienced unusual high temperatures the last months...not really winter-like (ski slopes in the Alps are still green!). However, this week the temperatures dropped quite a bit, it seems winter is coming just in time...

Comment and referrer spam (2)
The server-stats show me that most of the comment & referrer spam, hitting the site as from last week, has gone...YEAH, eat that you MoFo's!
Another note; some people seem to have difficulties leaving comments (the 'post comment' button is grayed out?!?). Leave me an email if you're experiencing this too...perhaps it's a general issue that I need to fix! (am not suffering from it myself though...)

Comment and referrer spam
Incase the site seems slow to load; I saw from my server-stats that I'm being hit by comment & referrer spam at this very moment. Luckily the anti-spam measures included in my weblog tool (
Pivot) are sophisticated enough to block all of it...pfew! :)

.Mac Podcast Pack
MacNN: "Apple is offering new software exclusively for .Mac members titled 'Podcast Pack,' which the company says includes professional music jingles and voiceovers"
At first I thought this was a brand new application from Apple, intended to compete head-to-head with CastBlaster (Windows only though) and/or Übercaster (for Mac). Maybe even be a replacement for the podcasting feature in GarageBand!?!
None of this...the .Mac Podcast Pack is containing 'just' several GarageBand sound packs with professional music jingles and voiceovers...still useful though :)

QOTD December 12 2006
Gilda Radner: "I always wanted a happy ending... Now I've
learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories
don't have a clear beginning, middle and end. Life is about not
knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it
without knowing what's going to happen next. Delicious ambiguity."

Next steps in my job closure
This week I informed my colleagues of my decision. One after the other mentioned that it's a big loss for the company, both professionally as personally (thx guys!), but they perfectly understand it (touching)...
Since I have 2 months notice, I will most likely resign end of December and have my last day end February...the countdown has begun, eh?

QOTD December 6 2006
Hugh Macleod: "The old ways are dead. And you need people
around you who concur./ That means hanging out more with the creative
people, the freaks, the real visionaries, than you're already doing.
Thinking more about what their needs are, and responding accordingly.
Avoid the dullards; avoid the folk who play it safe. They can't help
you any more. Their stability model no longer offers that much
stability. They are extinct, they are extinction."
